is part of the Innovating for Maternal and Child Health in Africa (IMCHA) programme supported by a joint initiative of three Canadian government agencies, namely; the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada (DFATD) and Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC). The research project seeks to improve maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes by strengthening health systems to become more equitable, using primary health care as an entry point. The project is implemented by Institute of Development Studies (IDS) University of Dar es Salaam in partnership with Iringa Region (Health Department) and Healthbridge Foundation of Canada. The total budget for the project is Canadian Dollar (CAD) 777,300.
