Annual International Conference of the Social Sciences (Voice of Social Sciences)

The College holds an annual International Conference called the Voice of Social Sciences. The Conference theme changes yearly. The aim of the conference is to advance knowledge in Social Sciences, promote publication and dissemination of research projects conducted by Social Scientists. The Social Sciences Conference has been a forum for scholars, policy makers, private sectors as well as development partners to debate and critically discuss topical issues of National, Regional and Global interests. In this year 2018, the College of Social Sciences will hold its fifth Voice of Social Sciences International Conference on 29th November 2018 at the University of Dar es Salaam, Mwalimu J.K Nyerere Campus in the famous Nkrumah Hall. The main theme of the conference is “Regional Integration in Contemporary Africa”.

The first Voice of Social Sciences International Conference was achieved successfully under the theme “achieving sustainable development in an interconnected world” which was held from 17th to 18th November 2014 at Mlimani City Conference Centre.

The second Conference under the theme of “Population, Natural Resources and Development” was held from August 31st to September 1st 2015 at Bank of Tanzania Conference Centre.

The third Voice of Social Sciences International Conference was held at the University of Dar es Salaam, Mwalimu J.K Nyerere Campus from 25th – 26th November 2016 carrying the theme of “Industrialization and Social Transformation: What is the Role of Social Sciences?”.

The forth Conference carrying the theme The Youth Question and Social-Economic Development in Tanzania” and was winningly held at the University of Dar es Salaam Mwalimu J.K Nyerere Campus on 30th November 2017.
