Dr. Mtei holds a Diploma in Education with majors in Chemistry and Biology from Dar es Salaam Teachers College, a B.Sc. in Chemistry and Marine Biology from the University of Dar es Salaam, and an MSc in Chemistry from the University of Botswana, Gaborone. She earned her Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico, USA, where she specialized in spectroscopic and electronic structure studies of bis-metallodithiolenes. Dr. Mtei is currently a lecturer in the Chemistry Department, teaching coordination chemistry and biochemistry courses. Her research interests encompass coordination chemistry, materials chemistry, and biochemistry.
