  • African Archaeology Network which dealt with past urbanization and human responses to environmental change being of 13 African countries.
  • Archaeological investigation of the consequences of the 19th c. caravan trade on human environment and subsistence strategies in southern Tanzania. A three-year project funded by Volkswagen Foundation.
  • International (German) Market for African Community-based Tourism, conducted in Germany, supported by theWorld Academy of Science (TWAS)-DFG Cooperation Visit Award at ZENAT Centre of Sustainable Tourism, Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, in 2018.
  • A Postdoctoral Research Project entitled “Local community and heritage tourismification in Tanzania”supported by the University of Johannesburg, in 2018.
