Training Workshop for Primary School Geography Teachers from Kinondoni Municipality held at the College of Arts and Social Sciences Conference at the University of Dar es Salaam on 28th -29th August, 2014.
The training workshop was organized by the Centre for Climate Change Studies (CCCS) after being approached by the Geography teachers’ group representative, Mrs. Nesta Mwamfupe who noticed that teachers in her municipality needed further professional development in order to better teach their students. In response, the CCCS team organized a 2 day training workshop which was attended by 50 primary school Geography teachers from the Kinondoni Municipality. The teachers were trained on climate change issues including the science of climate change, vulnerability and impacts of climate change, responses to climate change challenges and national and international initiatives addressing climate change impacts.
Training Workshop for University of Dar es Salaam Faculty on Proposal Writing for Climate Change Projects held at the University of Dar es Salaam from 22nd -26th April, 2013
In collaboration with the International START Secretariat- Washington DC, the Centre for Climate Change Studies organized a 5 day training workshop on proposal writing. The aim of the workshop was to equip the University of Dar es Salaam’s faculty with proposal writing skills. This was in an effort to mainstream climate change issues in the University curriculum. The workshop exposed participants to the process of formulating research objectives and approaches and various scientific research methods. The workshop also acted as a platform for participants to share their ideas and experiences, and approaches to continued learning on research methods.
