Makerere University in collaboration with Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), University of Dar es Salaam Uganda, Martyrs University (UMU) and Haramaya University are implementing a six year NORHED funded project entitled “Environmental Risk Management under Increasing Extremes and Uncertainty (MERIT)”. The overall objective of the MERIT project is to strengthen capacities of targeted south universities to provide quality education, research and outreach in the field of environmental risk and climate change that meet labor market demands, supports sustainable socio-economic development and national achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. The priority research sites will be highland and mountainous environments in Eastern Africa. The MERIT project has allocated UGX 80million for one postdoctoral research opportunity starting in 2023. We are inviting interested applicants for a Postdoctoral Research Opportunity tenable at Makerere University.
