About Us
Background
The Centre for Behavioural Studies (CBS) is an interdisciplinary research and policy Centre hosted at the University of Dar es Salaam School of Economics (UDSE) since 2018. The Centre applies behavioural science, economics and rigorous empirical research to generate evidence-based solutions to public policy and development challenges in Tanzania and across Africa.
Through its methodology, RIDER, CBS combines behavioural diagnostics with experimental research to identify policy challenges, design and test interventions, and translate research findings into practical policy recommendations.
Our Objective
Apply behavioural science to improve policy and public services by working closely with departments within the government.
Engage in specific projects with government departments.
Conduct training for government officials on applying behavioural science.
Disseminate CBS output and create advocacy for problem solving.
