Biography

Federico Santi, PhD, P.E., is an expert in energy system modeling and teaches Energy System Analysis and Modeling at Sapienza University of Rome in the MSc Course in Energy Engineering.

He is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Dar es Salaam, College of Engineering and Technology. Prof. Santi is the author of several papers and has served as an invited speaker and chairman at 26 international conferences in nine countries across four continents.

Prof. Santi is a registered professional engineer and certified energy manager. He leads an independent energy consulting engineering company called Studio Santi, which focuses on innovation and is involved in a wide range of energy projects.

His professional portfolio includes more than 1.5 GW of new renewable energy power plants, including 6 GWh of energy storage and several transmission and distribution grid works.

He has also contributed to energy efficiency interventions in more than three million cubic meters of various buildings, including airport terminals, data centers, logistics facilities, museums and other infrastructure.

Academic and International Engagement

Prof. Santi has contributed to academic and professional knowledge exchange through publications, invited speaking engagements and conference leadership. He has served as an invited speaker and chairman at 26 international conferences held in nine countries across four continents.

His work connects academic energy system modeling with practical engineering applications, particularly in renewable energy development, energy storage, power systems, energy efficiency and sustainable energy innovation.
