Introduction
The School of Education, University of Dar es Salaam, is pleased to announce an International Conference on Education Policy and Curricular Reforms to be held from 25th to 27th March 2026. This conference also marks 50 years of the Papers in Education and Development (PED) Journal.
The conference aims to bring together academics, researchers, policymakers, postgraduate students, and education practitioners to reflect on the implementation of recent education policy and curricular reforms, with a special emphasis on sustainability, equity, teacher professionalism, and curriculum coherence across all levels of education.
About the Conference
Following the review of the 2014 Tanzania’s Education and Training Policy (2023 Edition), several significant reforms have been introduced in the curricula. These reforms align with the vision of Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, emphasizing accessible, inclusive, and skills-based education.
The success of these reforms depends on effective implementation. The School of Education, University of Dar es Salaam, is therefore organizing this three-day international conference to provide a platform for reflection and sharing experiences on the implementation of these reforms.
The conference also serves as a platform to mark 50 years of the Papers in Education and Development (PED) Journal, celebrating its contribution to education research and policy discourse since 1975.
