Help and Support

Circulation Services provides friendly service to the college community and the public in lending library materials.
  1. Library resources from general collections can be borrowed by staff and students by using a valid staff or students ID or library borrowing cards.
  2. Staff are allowed to borrow up to five books at a time for a period of two weeks (14 days) and renewable as long as there has been no request for that material by any other user.
  3. Students can borrow one book at a time for a period of 5 days.
  4. Materials that are not overdue can be renewed in-person, or by phone.
  5. Overdue materials will need to be renewed in-person.
  6. Overdue materials fines are 1000 Tsh. per day, per item for staff, and 500 Tsh. Per day, per item for students.

Assistance in finding & using library resources from library online collections or printed resources. Since users have different reference queries that need to be solved, reference services are provided on a person-to-person basis.

Services

Library users have the right to borrow books and other volumes from the library provided they have the library borrow tickets.

The maximum number of volumes allowed at a time is 1 copy for undergraduate students, and three copies for Academic staff. The loan period is three days for students and 14 days for academic staff. A penalty of Tsh 500 will be charged for each incremental day. Users are required to purchase and replace lost books or pay the equivalent market price in Tsh.

Books in this collection are borrowed on hourly basis due to their shortage. Borrowers are not allowed to take books from this section outside the library although they may be allowed to photocopy pages should they wish to do so

To ensure individuals with special needs enjoy equal services, the library provides the following;

  1. Extension in loan periods for visually impaired users
  2. Extension in reserve periods for all individuals with disabilities
  3. Provision of library cards for people supporting individuals with disabilities

Printing and photocopying services:

To ensure smooth circulation of library resources, the library provides printing and photocopying services at a subsidized fee.
