Dianus J. Ishengoma is a dedicated professional in Journalism and Mass Communication, currently serving as an Assistant Lecturer at the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC), University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has several years of teaching experience across a wide range of courses, including Contemporary Media, Media Theories, Media Management, Health Communication, Gender Communication, Media Research, and Media Ethics.
Ishengoma has applied his expertise through numerous consultancies involving research and training projects for esteemed local and international organizations. His consultancy work spans areas such as Gender Communication, Health Communication, Strategic Communication, Media Production, Audience Research, and Science Journalism. Notable institutions he has collaborated with include The World Bank, SOS Children's Villages International (Tanzania), the Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH), Tanzania Commission for AIDS (TACAIDS), HAKIELIMU, the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA), the Ministry of Health (through the National AIDS Control Programme – NACP), Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC), and the National Environment Management Council (NEMC).
In addition to his academic and consultancy roles, Mr. Ishengoma served as the Country Programme Coordinator for the Bloomberg Media Initiative Africa – Financial Journalism Training (BMIA-FJT), a three-year program (2019–2022) funded by the Bloomberg Foundation—the program aimed to enhance the capacities of Tanzanian journalists and professionals in the financial sector. Dianus Ishengoma is currently pursuing a PhD in Media Studies in South Africa. He holds a Master of Arts in Gender Studies, a Master of Arts in Mass Communication, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication.
