Research:

Research interests: I am very passionate in researching vectorborne diseases focusing on malaria and arboviruses. The need to control emerging and re-emerging vector-borne diseases such as dengue fever is now pertinent than ever

Projects:

  1. University of Dar es Salaam, Competitive Research Grant (CONAS-ZLW20148), 2020. Project title: Investigation of larvicidal, adulticidal and Repellent action of Dioscorea sansibarensis plant extract against Dengue vector (Aedes aegypti)- Principal Investigator
  2. University of Dar es Salaam, Competitive Research Grant (CONAS-MBB 20034), 2019. Project title: Investigation of feeding preferences of Dengue vectors and epidemiological implications  in Dar es Salaam region (2020-To date): Co-Investigator
  3. Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA) Re-entry grant, 2018-2019. Vector resistance to Pyrethroids: Linkage between phenotypic resistance and ultimate Malaria pathogen transmission. Principal Investigator
  4. University of Dar es Salaam, Competitive Research Grant (MUCE-18115), Characterization of arbovirus vectors for non-malaria febrile in selected regions of Tanzania, 2018-2019: Principal Investigator.
