Mr. Titus Mpemba Ngeme is an upcoming academician, born on the 21st of February 1978 in Mwanza–Tanzania. He attended his primary education at Manawa Primary School in Misungwi district of Mwanza administrative region between 1986 and 1992, after which he joined Ngudu Secondary School in Kwimba district of Mwanza administrative region to pursue his secondary education between 1993 and 1996.
Thereafter, he joined Mkwawa High School in Iringa region for his advanced secondary education between 1997 and 1999 where he completed successfully and joined the University of Dar es Salaam for a bachelor’s degree in arts with education (BAED) in 2000. He graduated in 2004 and proceeded to a master’s degree in linguistics at the same university and in the same year, specialising in Kiswahili and English languages, graduating in 2007.
While pursuing his master’s degree studies, Mr. Mpemba served as part-time teaching assistant in the Department of Kiswahili of the same University. He was employed by the University of Dodoma as an assistant lecturer between 2007 and 2009 after which he moved to the University of Dar es Salaam for the same position, which he holds to date.
In 2013, Mr. Mpemba was endorsed by the Institute of Kiswahili Studies of the University of Dar es Salaam to pioneer establishment of Kiswahili programmes at the University of Zimbabwe, where he is currently a Kiswahili lecturer and PhD candidate to date.
Mr. Mpemba has published seven academic articles and one book chapter. His areas of interest are interpreting, transcendental language mediation, translation, writing and editing.
