Profile: Sayuni Bupe Mwamanenge is and assistant Lecturer in the department of Structure and Construction Engineering (SCE) under the Architecture program. She does consultancy and research works related to the Built Environment and how it impacts human behavior.

Sayuni Bupe has also been appointed a board member for Architects and quantity surveyors board (AQRB) since 2022 and a member for the Education committee of the Architectural Association of Tanzania since 2022 (AAT).  She has also been appointed as an examiner and interviewer for   interior design professional registration exam in Tanzania since 2018.

As an assistant lecturer her teaching is intended to best prepare students for their future careers by creating a learning environment that focuses on multidisciplinary communication applied in real-world, concentration on innovative design thinking, and promotion of an inclusive, tolerant, and diverse climate. She teaches design studio, Introduction to Interior designing, building materials, History of African Architecture and furnishing and fittings. Not only that but also she supervises dissertation works for final year BArch projects.

She is very passionate about mentoring and works hard to empower young women in both high schools and universities in Tanzania under different mentoring programs. Sayuni believes in the power of networking, providing guidance and sharing knowledge with young people who may sometimes lack proper guidance in an environment that does not support aspirations deemed to be ‘male dominated’; Her goal is to help young designers and her mentees become the best versions of themselves and have fun at what they do.
