Dr. Mathew Agripinus Senga is the University of Dar es Salaam Research Grant Coordinator (RGC) and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. Dr. Senga has a PhD in Sociology from the University College Dublin, Ireland.

His portifolio as RGC, among other tasks covers coordination, monitoring and evaluation of UDSM Research Grants, Research Centres, Research Centres of Excellence, and Professorial Research Chairs, coordination  and monitoring of UDSM global ranking and analysis and interventions, the UDSM website in order to improve the visibility of staff research areas publications, monitoring of UDSM Journals indexing and citation and developing a database for calls for proposal cycles of major research grant agencies.

Dr. Senga has a longstanding interest in environmental governance, social problems, rural livelihoods, population and health. Dr. Senga has a vast experience in research employing qualitative, quantitative and social network analysis approaches. His PhD research employed social network approaches of Exponential Random Graph Modeling (ERGM) and Stochastic Actor Oriented Modeling (SAOM) in collaborative management of natural resources.
