Ms. Linda Kakuru is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Structural and Construction Engineering (SCE) for Architecture program. She is engaged in teaching, research and consultancy works in the field of Architecture and Urban Design. Currently, she teaches undergraduate students of Architecture in Design studio projects and Professional practice as a theory subject as well as supervising BArch students’ research works. She is a coordinator for Architecture program to enable the smooth running of activities. Ms. Linda holds a M.Arch in Sustainable Urban Design at The University of Nottingham (UK) where her research work involved seeking the challenges and knowing the benefits of urban green spaces in Sub Sahara African cities. Her current area of research interests includes Urban Design, Green spaces and Architectural Landscape.


Ms. Linda, despite her teaching activities, she is also a professional registered Architect with Architects and Quantity Surveyors Registration Board (AQRB) and a corporate member of Architectural Association of Tanzania (MAAT) and has performed various consultancy services not only with Bureau for Industrial Cooperation (BICO) at UDSM, but also with other stakeholders include Ifakara Health Institute, Mwanza City Council, TIGO, Maxcom and the United Nations.


She is also very interested mentoring upcoming young women whose vision is to be part of the construction industry in Tanzania under mentoring programs.
