Dr. Jonas B. Tiboroha is a Lecturer in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, School of Education at the University of Dar es Salaam. He holds a PhD of Education from University of Dar es Salaam, where he graduated in 2016. He pursued and completed both Master’s and Undergraduate training in Sport Sciences (Exercise Physiology) at the Norwegian University of Sport and Physical Education in Oslo, Norway (Now Norwegian School of Sport Sciences) in 2004 and 2001 respectively majoring Exercise Physiology, and Undergraduate’s training in Physical Education, Sport and Culture at the University of Dar es Salaam in 1998. His interest area has been on Exercise and Performance Enhancement, Ergogenics and Sports, Coach Education and Development, and Physical Activity and Health Promotion. Currently, Tiboroha has been actively involved in three projects (i) Transition of young athletes from school-based to club-based sports programmes (Youth Sports Project); (ii) Monitoring the fitness transitions among Tanzanian athletes and (iii) FOCoActive. As a result of the three projects, between 2022 to 2023, Tiboroha has submitted eight (8) manuscripts to peer reviewed journals international for publication. In addition, Tiboroha has also been actively involved in a number of national, regional and international consultative engagements aimed at capacity building and research in Sport Sciences as well as sport development which led to this project.
