Kamfipo Gidion is a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam, School of Journalism and Mass Communication. He has served the public sector for 29 years both as an educator and instructor. He is also a program developer in the area of Language and Communication. He also teaches Mass Media Research, Issues in Mass Communication Research, Kiswahili for the Media as well as Media Management courses. His career started in the area of Education before turning to Mass Communication. Gidion has taught in different lower and medium level institutions before joining the University of Dar es Salaam.
Management wise, when teaching in primary schools he went up to the position of Head of School. At the University, at different times, he was appointed as Coordinator of Students’ Affairs, Coordinator of Research and Knowledge Exchange, Coordinator of Postgraduate Studies, Associate Dean of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, and now he is serving as Academic Coordinator of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
He is also a consultant in the areas of Translation, Language and Communication, Education and Program development.
