Dr. Furaha Chuma is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Computational Sciences, and Engineering from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha, Tanzania, in 2020. He also holds an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania (2014), and a B.Ed. in Mathematics from the same institution (2010). Additionally, he completed a Diploma in Education (Dip. Ed - Physics & Mathematics) at Morogoro Teachers College, Morogoro, Tanzania, in 2005. Dr. Chuma has actively contributed to various national educational initiatives, including writing and reviewing mathematics textbooks for secondary schools. He is a member of the Mathematics Association of Tanzania (MAT) and the Southern Africa Mathematical Sciences Association (SAMSA). Furthermore, he serves as an invited reviewer for several academic journals, including the American Journal of Science and Engineering. His research interests span several areas, including Bio-Mathematics, Ecology, Epidemiology, and Statistics.
