Professor Magige received the BSc degree with Education (Chemistry and Biology) from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, in 2000, and later MSc. and Ph.D. degrees in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway in 2003 and 2008, respectively. In 2006, she joined the Department of Zoology and Wildlife Conservation, University of Dar es Salaam, as an Assistant Lecturer, and she is now an Associate Professor since September 2020. Prof. Magige has been engaged in teaching Biology of Mammals, Biostatistics, Research Methods, Biology of Birds and Environmental Impact Assessment. Prof. Magige has supervised a number of students from undergraduate to PhD level on ecological studies. Apart from teaching she has been engaged in conducting research, her current research interests include human wildlife interaction and conservation biology and has published a number of articles in peer reviewed journals. Prof. Magige is a member to two non-governmental organizations, Nature Tanzania and Wildlife Conservation Society of Tanzania. In addition, she is a member of the research advisory committee of Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA). Prof. Magige is currently the Principal of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences, University of Dar es Salaam.
