Chacha Werema Nyamkinda has a PhD in Zoology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He has a master degree in Wildlife Ecology and a first degree in Zoology and wildlife conservation from the same university. He lectures with the University of Dar es Salaam in the Department of Zoology and Wildlife Conservation in wildlife science and biodiversity conservation related disciplines to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. He also does research and supervise postgraduate students in the same disciplines. He has published over 25 papers in peer reviewed scientific journals. He is one of the authors of a book titled ‘Birds of Western Tanzania: Gombe, Mahale, Rubondo, Saanane, Malagarasi, Ntakata and Minziro’ published in 2019. Chacha, at least occasionally, has taught field courses at the Tropical Biology Association at Amani, Tanzania. Chacha is among the founder of Nature Tanzania, a non-governmental organization. Chacha has interests in biostatistics, conservation biology, ornithology, biology of bats, behavioral ecology and impacts of exotic plants on flying vertebrates (the birds and bats). Chacha does consultancies in wildlife related matters particularly on bats and birds.
