Dr. Almachius Kamala Kahwa is an Assistant Lecturer of Electrical Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering (EE), College of Engineering and Technology (CoET). He received the B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Yokohama National University (YNU), Yokohama, Japan.

Dr. Kahwa has authored or co-authored several scholarly articles in international journals. He was selected by the EE and YNU as an outstanding student in 2015 and 2018, respectively. His current research interests include multilevel converters, PWM design, and digital control of power converters, machine drives.

Dr. Kahwa is an active member of IEEE power electronics and industrial electronics societies.
