She holds a Ph.D. in International Business from the University of Agder, Norway; an MBA (Finance), and BCom (Finance) from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She has over fourteen years of experience in teaching, researching, and consulting in areas of corporate finance, small business finance, corporate governance, microfinance, and entrepreneurship. She has attended a number of competency-based courses and international conferences on entrepreneurship, microfinance, corporate governance, women entrepreneurship, international strategy, business planning, consultancy skills, adult training, and project management. In addition, she has participated and managed research and consulting assignments for various agencies such as International Labor Organization, Financial Sector Deepening Trust Fund, Business Environment Strengthening for Tanzania, Tanzania Revenue Authority, International Fund for Agriculture Development, and Research on Poverty alleviation. Prof. Mori has also published academic papers in international refereed journals such as Small Business Economics Journal, Journal of Management and Governance, Journal of Emerging Market Finance, and Journal of African Business.

Prof. Neema Munisi Mori is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) and a Director of Public Services at the University of Dar es Salaam. She is an external Examiner for Strathmore University Kenya, an External Examiner for the University of Agder, Norway, and an Independent Examiner for the University of Dar es Salaam.

She also worked as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Norwegian Centre for Microfinance Research, University of Agder, (Norway), as an Audit Trainee at KPMG Tanzania, as well as a Part-time Price Analyst and Data Entrant at Inspections and Control Services Tz. Ltd.  (ICS).

Currently, Prof Mori sits on different Boards such as; BRELA (Business Registrations and Licensing Agency) as Board chairperson, ATCL (Air Tanzania Company Limited) as board chairperson, and CRDB Bank PLC as Vice Board chairperson.
