Caroline Swai was employed with the University of Dar- es- salaam Since February 2006 as an Assistant Dean of Students I/Counsellor and in August 2018- 2022, she was assigned to be   Deputy Dean of Students/Counsellor right now she is at the Directorate as Principal Warden/Counsellor.

Ms. Swai is responsible for assisting the Dean of Students in managing all students’ affairs at the University and the following key functions in particular: As a Principal Warden I/counselor she assists the Dean on all matters pertaining to UDSM students’ psychosocial and welfare issues and other students’ matters like that of academic and health. She also provides guidance and social services to UDSM needy students. She prepares, coordinates, and conducts students’ orientation programs for freshers respectively, assists DoS in providing oversight on students’ accommodation, and serves as the secretariat of the UDSM Students Affairs committee.

She has been involved and participated in teams to develop UDSM Guidance and counseling Policy, and UDSM Disability Policy and is A team member to Develop UDSM Guidelines for the Identification of Staff and Students with Disabilities. She also is a UDSM- Directorate of Students Services (Centre for Disabilities Services) Focal Person. She too attended and participated in the UDSM UNESCO O3 Plus project and the of Comprehensive Sexuality Education Peer Educators training.
