Collaborations

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) has more than 100 university and research institute partners across the globe (Africa, Asia,Europe, USA and Canada). International engagement has always been a UDSM priority and was significantly prioritized with the establishment of the directorate of Internationalization in 2014. Since then, the UDSM internationalization drive has significantly grown. Recently UDSM has engaged into deepening collaboration among South-South, African partnership and some of its regional blocks (EAC, SADC) through spearheading the teaching of Kiswahili language through capacity building, curriculum development and production of teaching resources.

UDSM International office is responsible for negotiating, monitoring and evaluating all UDSM’s institutional partnerships. Depending on its nature and scope, a partnership agreement can regulate any number of activities between UDSM and a peer institution, including:​​

  • financial matters and arrangements;
  • Capacity building
  • joint Degree programmes;
  • administrative cooperation, such as information exchange on best practices;
  • staff and student mobility;
  • research cooperation
