Gender Awareness and Transformation through Education (GATE) project under the Gender Unit supported DUCE with books and other official accessories on 5th August 2021. GATE project is organized jointly between Trinity College Dublin (TCD - Ireland) and DUCE. This ambitious project is solely funded by the Irish Government through the Irish Aid.

Speaking during the handing over, the GATE Principal Investigator, Dr. Perpetua Urio,  said the Project supported the College with three office machines including HP Laptop, Epson Projector and HP colour lesser jet printer, whose total cost is equivalent to Tsh. 7,077,558/=. She further said the project has managed to buy 49 current books on gender issues, whose total cost is equivalent to Tsh. 5,500.000/=

In response, the College Principal, Prof. Stephen Oswald Maluka, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the Gender Unit for the support, and declared to take intensive care of the books and the official machines which are evenly limited at the college. He insisted that such accessories will be used efficiently and will be kept in safe hands. He said GATE project has gone miles ahead irrespective of its primary objectives. He further explained that the Project is likely to assist the role of transforming people’s lives through the donated accessories.
