Faculty of Education conducted teaching practice workshop for Regional Coordinators and Transcribers on July 28, 2021. The objective of the Workshop was to share Teaching Practice (TP) past experiences with Regional Coordinators and Transcribers so as to improve the current TP exercise. It also aimed at discussing scheduling of scheme of work and lesson plan based of competence-based curriculum.

In such workshop, participants discussed important issues regard to teaching practice assessment based on competence-based approach. In addition, the Coordinators were familiarized with Global Information System (GIS) so as to enable each coordinator to get Global Positioning System (GPS) of all schools found in his area of coordination, which will eventually simplify the teaching practice supervision.

The Dean of Faculty of Education, Dr. Joel Kayombo opened the event and emphasized that every Regional Coordinator (RC) should ensure that all student teachers have settled in the first week of the TP. He added that, every RC should identify as many new TP centres as possible to ensure that students have many chances of selection of TP centres in the forthcoming year.

The participants of the workshop found the training very informative for Coordination and pre-visit activities in 2020/2021 teaching practice.

TP coordination upheld the workshop as an important academic activity at DUCE since it aimed at improving teaching supervision and strengthening relationship between the college, schools and the community.
