The Staff sports bonanza took place at Gwambina sports grounds located in Temeke District. The platform was also used to award the best College workers of the year.

The event was held last weekend involving several teams competing in football, netball, volleyball, tag-of-war and athletics. The occasion came into conclusion whereby a number of light sports activities such as rope skipping, sack race and pool table were staged.

Speaking to the gathered Staff members, the College Principal, Prof. Stephen Maluka thanked the Sports Committee and all Staff for their participation and hence making the event very colorful.

He said the event aimed at bringing together Staff from different departments and units. He also urged workers to have a special day for sports. However, Staff members are required to take exercises as part and parcel of daily routine activities.

In his remarks, the Sports Coordinator, Dr. Samuel Mhadija said the bonanza is conducted annually and it aims at improving health of employees who are the workforce in the College.

At the end of the event, prizes and medals were awarded to the winning teams.
