The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) organized the 16th exhibitions on Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation event held from Monday 26th July, 2021 to Saturday 31th July, 2021 at Mnazimmoja Grounds, Dar es Salaam. Higher Education Institutions including Professionals, Regulatory, and Research Bodies within and outside Tanzania participated the exhibition.

DUCE used such opportunity to create awareness among the general public and potential higher education students about the Institution, to publicize and showcase its core functions which include outreach activities, consultancy services, academic programmes, core courses offered, research projects and various technologies developedThe event enabled the prospective applicants who wish to apply for admission at DUCE for the year 2021/2022 to interact with exhibitors and make decision ofthe informed choices.

The exhibitions were opened by Eng. Zena Ahmed Said, the Chief Secretary of the State of Zanzibar. In her speech Eng. Zena urged that departments under Higher Education, Science and Technology are responsible for skilled personnel with knowledge and skills required in various developmental sectors, and who are likely to minimize economic and social challenges through researches and innovations.

The theme for this year's event was ‘Sustaining middle-income economy and promoting growth through higher education, science and technology’. In the exhibition, DUCE was visited by higher education stakeholders including; students, parents, guardians, lecturers, private sectors, government ministries, agencies, development partners and the general public.

The 16th exhibitions were officially closed by Omary Juma Kipanga, the Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Technology. In his speech, Mr. Kipanga requested Universities to continue making curriculum reviews from time to time in order to meet employment demands by emphasizing the significance of Science and Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Vocational training.
