People interested to teach Kiswahili language to foreigners can now count on DUCE for training.

The Department of Languages and Literature (DLL) offers a special short-course on teaching Kiswahili for foreigners.

The course attracts people from different walks of life to learn basic skills to teach the language to foreigners.

‘This is the first of its kind,’ the Head of Department Dr. Loveluck Phillip was quoted as saying during a brief ceremony to award certificates of recognition to new graduands this semester.

The Head of Department further said that the training offers yet another window for employment to students who might wish to pursue language teaching business.

The Coordinator of the course, Dr. Lameck Mpalanzi, said he was sure that the graduands had all the necessary skills to teach Kiswahili to foreigners.

The training this semester involved 25 students.
