Student teachers of science and mathematics have received a special training on competence-
based teaching and problem solving skills, thanks to the College research grants for 2019/2020.
The training was part of the research which aimed at fostering knowledge on promoting
Competence-Based Teaching and Problem-Solving Skills among Pre-service Teachers through
School Attachment.
41 students who took part in the training in theory and practice in 10 partner secondary schools
in Temeke Municipality near the College were awarded certificates in a brief function.
The student teachers were supervised by 38 resident mentors in schools they were posted.
The student-teachers received special certificates of attendance in a brief function attended by
the Deputy Principal (Academic), Dr. Julius Mbuna, Head of Department of Educational
Psychology and Curriculum Studies, Dr. Florence Kyaruzi, and trainers Dr. Dr.Venance
Timothy, Dr. Nyanjiga Rukondo, and Dr. Rehema Japhet.
