Librarians and ICT staff at the College this week received two-day training on Library Management System software- popularly known as ADLIB.

The training aimed to equip the ICT staff and Librarians on how to automate library functionalities including searching information and navigating library database.

The Deputy Principal (Academic), Dr. Julius Mbuna, said during the opening session that library users need to be made aware of available online library services.

‘Users should be made aware of these services since they determine the rate of users otherwise many users will become cynical,’ Dr. Mbuna said.

The facilitator from Univeraity of Dar es Salaam- Mwalimu Nyerere Campus, Ms. Justina Karata, said ADLIB increases users’ capacity to access online library services.

‘The software helps to simplify information searching process and teaching, conducting researches, and increasing library networking, said Ms. Karata.

The Director of Library, Dr. Luka Mkonongwa, said visitors to the library can access information from different sources such as journals, magazines, newspapers, and statistics
