Course Overview
The University of Dar es salaam Computing Centre offers a Certificate course in Computing and Information Technology. This programme which follows both NACTE and IT Essentials based curricula, aims at equipping students with appropriate knowledge and skills necessary to understand and become successful in the world of Information Technology.
The Certificate in Computing and Information Technology also serves as a bridge for those students with an aptitude for computing to move from basic Computer training through to diploma and degree levels of studies. The programme looks at how ICT can be used to solve business problems and challenges such as developing Computer programs, managing stand-alone and networked computers, installing and maintaining software applications, designing websites and developing databases. It also enables students to gain the necessary skills for Help Desk, User Support, and hardware troubleshooting functions.
Course Objectives
The objectives of the programme are to:
a) Provide foundations of basic principles, skills and knowledge that will enhance the graduates’ carrier development.
b) To provide adequate ICT skills and knowledge which will enable the graduates to be competent in solving the ICT related problems relevant to their levels of study.
c) To prepare students for further studies in ICT related fields.
