Tumsifu Elly (Ph. D) is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam. He has acquired extensive knowledge and experience in business research, consultancy and teaching over more than 20 years. He has extensive experience in management science, entrepreneurship, social protection, agribusiness, food supply and logistics capacity assessment, to name a few. Dr Elly has researched and published on topics including: small business financing, engendering agribusiness entrepreneurship, rural entrepreneurship, growth mind set among the poor, influence of women producer groups on rural entrepreneurship, landscape labelling, certification, firm capabilities and competitive advantage, humanitarian logistics.
He has done consultancy in the following areas: Livelihood improvement, analytical work for productive social safety net (World Bank), agricultural information needs and sources of farmers in Tanzania, market assessment and Company mapping for Wekeza youth employment strategy to inform job placement and apprenticeship training (International Rescue Committee), savings group performance assessment under TASAF (World Bank) and How small enterprises in Tanzania finance and sustain their ventures, Logistics capacity assessment - WFP – Tanzania and Building transporter’s capacity - WFP, to name a few
