Mr. Lila Sayi Mandu is a Trainer, Consultant and Researcher in Strategic Communication - Corporate Communications, Public Relations, Advertising and Behaviour Change Communication. He holds an M.A in Communication studies from the University of Nairobi-Kenya, B.A. Mass Communication from the St. Augustine University of Tanzania and a Diploma in Education from Butimba Teachers College-Mwanza. Mr. Mandu is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Dar es Salaam. His areas of specialization include Corporate Communication/Public Relations and advertising campaign, Public Relations writing, Psychology of Advertising, Public Relations and Advertising theories, and Persuasion in Public Relations.       

Before joining the University of Dar es Salaam, Mr. Mandu worked at St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) as an Assistant Lecturer between 2011 and 2015. Then from 2015 to 2019 he served as the Senior I.E.C officer for the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). He has also been involved in a number of professional tasks including; team member in developing a Communication Policy/Strategy for Vocational Education Training Authority (VETA), training Civil servants on PR campaign at the Center for Economic Diplomacy (2020), and seminar presentations on Communication policy/skills at the Center for Communication Studies – College of Humanities, University of Dar es Salaam.

Mr. Mandu has also Worked as a rapporteur in different conferences including, the National Conference on Ending Violence against Women and Children in Tanzania held on 21st – 22nd March 2019 at the Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE); and also a Conference for the African Climate Change Adaptation Initiative (ACCAI) Climate Change and Food Security, hosted by the Center for Climate Change studies-UDSM, conducted from 21st to 22nd August 2019.

In 2021, Mr. Mandu was engaged by ‘Hakielimu’- A Civil Society organization, as a team member in evaluating Evidence-based Communication for social justice project- in Sumbawanga District.

 His current research is ‘Assessment of Institutional Communication frameworks for Behavioural Change in Managing Climate and Environmental-related risks in Simiyu region-Tanzania’.
